The term “The Plot Thickens” refers to the omnipresent metaphysical question that surrounds the existence of every conscious soul; why are we here? There is a constant desire for the understanding of the very presence that is our shared reality. This need to decipher an anomaly that’s only purpose is to be an aberration is, in itself, the essence of humanity. All we can attempt is to thicken the plot…

Spawned from the embers of a fire in a small cave just north of the Columbian border, raised by radio waves and an old encyclopaedia named James, William Thomas Christopher Levers was destined to a life filled with mystery and wondrous melancholy. His first musical experience came about during a freak meteor shower. As young William sat upon the hill betwixt the victim village, his ears revelled in the screams of villagers erupting in a harmonious symphony of melody and fear as if the small settlement were a space rock hang drum.
This memory would continue to haunt him, yet inspire him.

Dan entered the atmosphere in a flaming ball of ice and rock as a strand of hair. He was found in the smouldering wreckage of a hemp farm in a small village. That piece of hair wormed its way under the ground for an age. In time a stalk sprouted up and grew into a grand tree. In 1993 the tree blossomed and bared fruit. The largest fruit from the very top fell and split revealing an intoxicated hippy. Some say it was the force of the fall that made Dan so vacant. Another theory is that his mind travels in and out of various dimensions that exist in a completely different colour spectrum; it is believed that the average mortal would not be able to comprehend the speed in which this occurs, but when Dan’s fingertips grace the strings of his instrument, we catch a glimpse of this radical ‘happening’.

There are persistent myths of various huge humanoid creatures roaming the earth. Bigfoot, the Abominable Snowman, Skunk-ape; regardless of the name, the legend is consistent throughout history. The truth is that the sightings are actually of one tight-knit clan of gentle-giants. They originate from an old civilisation, which was wiped out due to freakishly extreme weather. The survivors – blessed with immortality – roamed the earth for centuries.
One day a younger member of the clan was left behind when they attempted to escape some hunters in Nepal. He relished low frequencies as his people worshiped the earth and its volcanic growls. He now goes by the name of Connor, and honours his people by playing the almighty Bass.

Near the mountains of the oldest Tibetan monastery, in the deep, dark recesses of the concentrated pit of human turmoil, there spawned a primal, animalistic entity neither human nor demon. This creature was born of pure, chaotic rage and had no concept of rational thought. After centuries of festering in the forsaken pit, the creature escaped by ripping off its arms, legs and tail and built a limb-ladder that secured its freedom. Unfortunately, the military were waiting near the pit with an armed 1st Brigade battalion of camouflaged transvestites who, in their attempt to slaughter the beast, only angered it. Salvador Dali, the Major General of the 1st Brigade was in a tight spot, the future of humanity rested on his shoulders, but he had one trump card left. Salvador Dali loaded the cannon with his many different oil paints and fired them at the beast. As the paint covered the beast and ate away at his flesh, shrieks of searing pain filled the mountains around the battleground. Once the smoke had disappeared and the screaming had stopped, a figure seemed to be sitting in the smouldering ashes of the beast, a boy. Betwixt his fingers, two black wands of magic shaped as drum sticks. From the destruction of the ultimate evil, emerged a spawn that would hit things for a living…a drummer.

No one quite knows how these four beings unified to create the self sufficient entity that is The Plot Thickens, but through some sort of celestial event, each of their guiding stars lead them to each other. So now they play their instruments in the hopes that somehow they will find their purpose…
